8th GRADE NEWS...........

As you know, we have several 8th-grade events coming up this month and we want to make sure you have the details on our 8th-grade dance, picnic, and promotion ceremony.

ELIGIBILITY

In order to be eligible for the 8th-grade packages, a student cannot have any disciplinary referrals and must be in good academic standing in all classes for both the 3rd and 4th Quarters.

COST

The cost of the two remaining available packages is listed below.  These packages can be purchased online only.  The payment deadline is 11:59 pm on May 17^th.

     $30 to cover the Dance, Picnic, and T-Shirt

     $20 that covers the Dance and the Picnic only 

DANCE

We invite all 8th-grade students to come out and celebrate in our Starry Night venue.  The dance will be Wednesday, May 29th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in our Cafeteria.  Both drop-off and pick-up will be in our bus loop off of Rhame Road.  The school's dress code will be enforced and a school-issued ID must be worn for this event.

   PICNIC

The May 30th 8th-grade picnic will be a day filled with fun activities, a DJ and a photo booth.  Lunch will be provided compliments of the school.  Students will need to wear their t-shirt that is included in the package.

DEADLINES/FEES

All funds/fees will need to be paid via Parent Portal by 2:00 pm on May 31, 2019, for a student to participate in the Promotion Ceremony.

PROMOTION: 

The 8th-grade promotion will be held on Monday, June 3rd at 8:15 am in our Gym. Each student will be issued five (5) tickets for the event.  If a student needs more than 5 tickets, the parent should email Mrs. Calvernetta Brown at cabrown@richland2.org to place their additional ticket request on a waiting list.  Tickets that are not used will need to be returned by May 30, 2019, for those on the waiting list.

All students are required to follow the promotional ceremony dress code:

   Male Attire:  Black Bottoms (Dress Pants), White Shirt, Black Tie, Black Shoes

   Female Attire- White Dress/white suit/ white shoes.
