Summit Parkway Celebrates Veteran's Day
Summit Parkway Middle School celebrated Veterans Day with respect, integrity, and pride as they made several special events for veterans, their children, and their families. The day began with a Veteran's Breakfast which included military children "pinning" their parents with American Flag Pins. This pinning ceremony, along with the Student Ambassadors, were under the leadership of Mrs. Nellie Jones, who is the Summit Parkway Middle School Counselor Military Liaison. The breakfast was followed by an assembly for families and the entire student body.
The assembly was hallmarked by school performing groups, student speakers, and two special Veteran speakers. First Sergeant Torey D. Mosley Sr., Bravo Company, Task Force Marshall, 171 Infantry Brigade and Major Sean Maly, U.S. Army, a faculty veteran, were the keynote speakers. What a great way to honor those who serve our country!
