Children of parents who talk to their teens regularly about drugs are 42% less likely to use drugs than those who don’t, yet, only a quarter of teens report having these conversations. Red Ribbon Week® (October 23-31), the oldest and largest drug prevention campaign in the nation, is your opportunity to get the ongoing conversation started. This year’s theme is Drug Free Looks Like Me™. We will celebrate with theme days October 25th - 29th.  To learn more and get tips for talking to your kids about drugs, visit www.redribbon.org. Once again, we want to share some basic information that will help ensure your student has a successful day

Tardy(s) Students arriving after 7:30 am are tardy. Click on the link below for details.

  

Summit Parkway Tardy policy

School ID Students are  required to wear their SPM school issued ID around their neck while on campus. After 5 temporary IDs a student will be charged $6 for a replacement.  Click on the link below for details.

Cell Phone Student’s cell phones MUST be powered off and stored in their book bag during the instructional day.  If there is an emergency, call the school’s main number 803-699-3580 to get a message to your child.  If they are sick, they can callrom the Health Room. Student cell phones will be confiscated if they are seen or heard.

Dress Code  Shorts and skirts must be fingertip length.  Girls wearing leggings must have a top/tunic over them that is fingertip length.  Holes in jeans must not be any higher than fingertip length.  Tops must cover the midriff. Hoods may not be on while in school. Students who are dress-coded will remain in ISD until appropriate clothing is delivered for them.

Items Dropped Off - Items that are dropped off for students will be distributed at:

 8:45 am, 12:30 pm and 2:20 pm

Eagle’s Nest

Eagle’s Nest is our after school program.  It runs from 2:25  to 6:00 pm on regular school days.   To register your child, click here  or contact Ms. Stevens at bstevens@richland2.org

Late Pick-Up Procedure

Students who are not picked up by 3:00 pm will be taken into a holding area by a staff member.  Parents will be given a warning the first time and charged $15.00 for each late pick-up after the warning.

October 11th through the 15th is Spirit week!  Each day has a theme as we celebrate our Eagle Athletes. On October 13th our Eagles will host the Dent Diamonds for volleyball at 4:00 pm and football at 4:30 pm..  We hope you will join us in supporting our Eagles.
