Lucky Students Witness the Wonders of Nature

SPM Basketball Champions
Our Summit Parkway Boys Basketball Team won the Metro City Championship Tournament between Richland One and Richland Two. The tournament was played at Blythewood Middle School on Feb. 15. Congratulations to Coach Jon Smith and the team!
Author Lincoln Peirce to Visit Summit Parkway
Sixth graders enjoy reading Big Nate by Lincoln Peirce. The author will be visiting Summit Parkway on March 12th. Interested students may pick up pre-order forms for autographed books in the media center.
Eighth Grader Receives President's Volunteer Service Award
Emily Ebbrecht has been honored for her exemplary volunteer service with a President’s Volunteer Service Award. Emily is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Ebbrecht of Columbia.
The award, which recognizes Americans of all ages who have volunteered significant amounts of time to serve their communities and their country, was granted by the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program on behalf of President Barack Obama.

Pennies for Patients Campaign
Parents,
As you may know, we are in the middle of our annual Pennies for Patients campaign to help benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society sponsored by AVID. Each day, students are bringing donations in to their homeroom teacher to help us raise money for this worthy cause. Donations can also be made online by going to the following website address:
You can make the donations in the name of your child and his/her homeroom. Please help us in our fundraising efforts as we strive to raise $2000 this year. You may make online donations through Friday, February 21.
